Our Sustainability Goals

Carbon Offsets

Our operation is small and doesn’t create a ton of emissions, but we are researching offsetting them as we continue to grow. We also are slowly switching to have our shop run off solar power as we grow and use more power.

Re-used Materials

No matter your budget size, we will work toward having a big portion of your materials for your project be leftover materials, supplies from second-hand sites, or thrift store up-cycled. We can still incorporate some bought “dream” finishes if you wish, but we believe that not only is re-using materials good for our planet, it creates more unique designs. Note that traditional building materials are hard to reliably source used, so the amount we can re-use will vary.

Native Land Remembrance

We want to acknowledge that our building is on property that is part of the traditional territory of the Keyauwee and Saura tribes. Our town is also a historically Black neighborhood that has benefited from the incredible heritage of Charlotte Hawkins Brown. We are still researching ways to adequately give thanks and reparations for that heritage and to the native peoples that this land by rights belong to, but for now we are donating 1% of all profit to the Charlotte Hawkins Brown Historical Foundation and 2% to the Guilford Native American Association.
